Here’s another simple script that I used frequently. In it’s currently state it removes Fullstops, Underscores, hyphens from files names.

So a file call File.name-test_1.avi would become File name test.avi

XBMC using Windows 7.

I have recently Purchased the Acer Revo 3700 Nettop PC, to be used as a media player. I’ll duel boot this with ubuntu soon and compare performance between Windows 7 and the Ubuntu Installed.

First though, I need to Install Windows 7 and XBMC and get my remote control working ok. (all my Media is stored om my NAS box.

First Create a mount point, open a terminal promt and go to the directory you wish to create you mount point (such as /mnt)

With my new Acer 3700 Revo not having a CD/DVD, I need to install windows 7 of a USB drive. This guide will show you how to do just that. Your need a Windows 7 PC and access to windows 7 source media. and a blank Pen Drive of at least 4 GB ( I’m using a 16GB).

Insert you windows 7 DVD and note down your DVD drive letter (from Windows Explore or My Computer).
